Dr. Yuan Ye was appointed by the International Union of Architects (UIA) as a member of the "Architecture and Children" working group by the International Union of Architects (UIA) on June 28, 1948. Representatives of 27 national organizations of architects participated. Its purpose is to unite architects from all over the world, regardless of their nationality, race, religion or political beliefs, professional training and architectural doctrines, to establish a relationship of mutual understanding and respect, to exchange academic ideas and perspectives, to gain experience, to expand knowledge and to complement each other's strengths. Representing the construction industry in the international community and promoting the continuous development of architecture and urban planning. Define the functions of architects, promote the development of architectural education in various fields, establish professional scopes, actively support national organizations of architects to safeguard the rights and status of architects, and promote international exchange activities between architects and related personnel.
IAA requires its members to uphold the highest professional ethics and norms to earn and maintain public trust in the honesty and competence of architects; Emphasizing the role and function of architecture in relation to quality, sustainability, culture and social values, as well as its relationship with the public; improving human living conditions more effectively by rebuilding devastated cities and villages; To better understand different groups of people and peoples, and to continue to strive for the realization of human material and spiritual pursuits; Promote the progress of human society, maintain peace, and oppose war.
At present, IAA has a total of 4 committees and 12 professional working groups. The committees include the Architectural Education Committee, the Practice Committee, the International Competitions Committee, and the Sustainable Development Goals Committee. The working groups include the Working Group on Architecture for All, the Working Group on Architecture and Children, the Working Group on Architectural Heritage and Cultural Identity, including the Working Group on Spiritual Places and the Working Group on Tourist Buildings, the Working Group on Social Habitats, the Working Group on Barefoot Architects, the Working Group on Medium-sized Cities - Urbanization and Development, the Working Group on Public Health, the Working Group on Sports Architecture, the Working Group on Educational and Cultural Buildings, the Working Group on Sustainability and Climate Change, the Working Group on Socially Responsible Buildings and the Working Group on Buildings and Renewable Energy, UIA-IFLA Original Ecosystem Corridor and Node Project, Public Space Working Group.
